UKmilk production :The UK unadjusted production in December of 1070 million litres was 24 million litres (2.3%) above last year and 125 million litres below The Dairy Group quota profile. The December butterfat was 4.15%, which was 5 points above last year. The UK annual rolling production to December 2010 has increased to 13,189 million litres, which was 1510 million litres (10.3%) below quota. The 12 month rolling butterfat adjustment remains at 3.96% fat which is one point below the UK butterfat base. UK production continues to ease from the peak of +7.2% above last year reached in September 2010 and since then this has steadily fallen to +2.3% in December 2010.

Lease: The leasing price has increased to 0.09ppl for 4% fat, with best buys at 0.01ppl for 3.85% fat. The increase in price reflects the limited availability of supply.

Purchase: The purchase price has decreased slightly to 0.29ppl for 4% fat, with lower fat lots at 0.20ppl.
