UK milk production: The UK unadjusted production in March of 1108 million litres was 91 million litres (7.6%) below last year and 206 million litres below The Dairy Group quota profile. The March butterfat was 4.13%, which was 3 points above last year. The UK annual rolling production to March 2013 has decreased to 12,968 million litres, which was 2177 million litres (14.4%) below quota. The 12 month rolling butterfat remains at 4.07%, which is 10 points above the UK butterfat base of 3.97%, which reduces the under production by 233 million litres to 1944 million litres (12.8%) below quota. NOTE: We have used the February provisional figure of 976 million litres as the RPA amended figure of 1054 million appears to be a major error.

MINERALS – new mineral tender and lower prices

Prices from £388/t for our high quality dairy mineral with discounts for larger orders. There are 10 different mixes available (plus 4 organic) to cover the majority of situations including minerals for youngstock, beef and sheep.

GRASS SEED – NEW 2013 season

Prices from £44/acre (14kg mixture). Five mixtures available for most situations. Special mixtures available on request.

MAIZE SEED – NEW 2013 season

Prices from £56/acre (45,000 seeds/acre) for NIAB first choice varieties, including Mesurol seed dressing. A wide range of varieties from maturity class 7 to 12. Cruiser & Poncho seed dressings must be ordered by mid February.

Holstein semen: Our analysis of the December 2012 bull proofs provides 80 bulls which meet our minimum criteria (PLI above £150, above 75% reliability, lower SCC, average or above for legs, feet & udder and above 0 for lifespan and fertility). DAIRY COMPOUND FEED

You can save up to 10% on the price of your dairy cake by joining one of our feed groups. We typically specify six high quality dairy cakes with a minimum 13 ME. Our group cakes are randomly sampled and independently analysed to ensure they achieve our high quality specification. Ring the Taunton office for more details.

PROTECTED FATS & STRAIGHTS

We can source a range of straights (urea, limestone flour, magnesium chloride, etc.) and the following fats at very competitive rates:
